March Update!

Its almost spring!!

If you're down south with us, we had hopefully our last cold blast a few weeks ago! My roommates & I live in an apartment complex with quite a few other students & young adults that are a part of our church. So the freeze was such a neat chance to slow down, connect with each other & build community. The picture above is my roommates & some neighbors on babysitting duty for one of my co pastors & his wife! We even got to do a church substitute together on Sunday morning & spent some time reading and discussing scripture together . Hope the cold blast was as fun for you as it was for me :)

More fun in the snow!

Next Step:

I'm seriously thrilled to catch you up on this next one! This is a group of students that are new to our ministry this year (largely freshman & sophomores) that are interested in being developed as a leader both in our community but also on our campus at large. We are calling this group Next Step!

This year we wanted to get a jump on trying to cast vision for people that we see the makings of a Christ like leader in, instead of waiting to develop them the next school year. So myself & my co pastor Graham decided to host a series of sessions designed to get them fired up about being at the cutting edge of Jesus' mission at UTA, and thus our mission- making & maturing disciples for the glory of God.  We personally invited about 60 students & almost all 60 came! We had no empty seats in the room. What is so touching is that there were more students in this room, desiring to be disciple makers among their peers, than there were students in our ministry when I was a freshman nine years ago. Look what God will do with faithful people who keep saying yes to Him.

Please be praying for this room to stay fired up & in love with Jesus' mission to reach the lost, and pray for our pastors as we do our best to develop & mentor them.

10 Years Celebration:

Speaking of what God has done, I want to invite you again now that we are a bit closer to the date of our 10 years celebration as a ministry thats coming up! This is a night that will somewhat resemble one of our normal Thursday Night services, so you can see what our ministry looks like nowadays. However, we will pay special attention to highlighting how God has moved over the last 10 years at UTA & what He has done through our time here. We want anyone who has had a role in God's deal here at UTA to come out & celebrate. I want to personally invite you to come out and meet the students you've been impacting & see the ministry God has built with your generosity & faithfulness. More details to come, I hope you'll consider.

Until next month,
Sophie
