Happy November!!

I hope this past month has been full of reminders of God's kindness to you no matter how this update finds you. I know it certainly has for me, not least of which is you. I am so thankful to get to do ministry with someone like you praying for & supporting what we are up to on campus. It truly is an invaluable gift & far more powerful than I could ever put words to.

The picture above is two of the girls in my peer team this year, Sarah & Melanie. They are a pair of student leaders that lead a core (small group) together & I get the gift of mentoring them. Both of them are such gifts in my own life, they are a testament to the fact that you can't out give God. I am in campus ministry to show people the richness of life found in Jesus & yet they reveal the same to me everyday. God has returned richness to my life beyond what I could have ever hoped to bring to those around me, it is deeply humbling. I am so thankful for these girls! Thank you for making relationships like this possible for them & for me.

"I AM"

I shared with you several months back that our theme for the year is inspired by Simon Peters question in John 6 " Lord to whom else shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to know and believe that you are the holy one of God." This comes directly after Jesus' teaching on being the bread of life and hundreds of his followers desert Him. This is such a sobering passage, because it highlights how vulnerable we all are to snubbing where true life is found.

We spent the first half of the semester going through the seven "I am" statements of Jesus in the Gospel of John. My Co Pastor Graham spent the last couple weeks designing some icons for each of them and I wanted to share a few of them with you.

This has been one of my most favorite series we have done because it is obvious to me how deeply these truths are sinking into the hearts of our students. There is no where else to go for life. One of the other things that has made this such a meaningful theme to me & our students is one of my other co pastors, Austin, wrote a song about John 6. I also wanted to share this with you. ( Spotify link) Our students LOVE it! It is drenched in scripture and has written truths deeply on their hearts. I am convinced these truths they are learning will guard their hearts and minds for years after they leave our ministry.
