Another semester in the books!

All the student leaders I meet with every week :)

Happy December!

Another semester has come to a close. I am profoundly grateful for your steadfast partnership this year. Ministry becomes an exponentially greater joy with partners, like you! Your partnership in the Gospel and in what God is doing in college students at UTA is invaluable to me and to the Kingdom of God. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. I’ve got a lot of fun pictures from this month, so let’s jump in!

Christmas Formal:

Something fun that happened just yesterday is our Christmas Formal! This is a time everyone in our ministry gets together to celebrate the end of the semester together and relax before finals. Our theme for the party this year was Christmas at The Oscars. All of the cores filmed a 90sec skit and we showed at the party and gave out mini Oscar awards. Here are some pictures from the night :)

The Party!

One of our students, Austen, enjoys photography so he is always taking neat pictures for us.

Corefa Party:

Another fun thing with great pictures from Austen, was our end of year party for our Corefas! We made up a game show called family frenzy and split everyone into “families”, then had a bunch of games built around different family characters. These photos are ridiculous but here they are for your viewing pleasure.
My family: Josh, Juan, Kenya and Skylar! We won :)

Gospel Choir:

At our last TNF of the year we had the chance to do a gospel choir with our students- video below. It was such a meaningful way to end the year that blessed a lot of people. One of our student leaders Mia wrote this to share that night:

"According to a simple Google definition, a gospel choir is 'a group of singers that performs gospel music.' But for some of us in this room, a gospel choir is more than just a performance—it's nostalgia, it’s the memory of your mom dragging you to choir practice, telling you to sing and act right. For others, a gospel choir might feel like a taboo—something only a small, select group of people in your church get to experience. But for all of us here tonight, a gospel choir represents something even deeper. It’s a glimpse of heaven—a place where people from different walks of life, from different backgrounds and stories, can come together in praise and worship. Tonight, we all get to witness that experience. Whether you’re singing from your seat or standing on this stage, let’s embrace this moment together. No matter where you are standing, no matter your history with gospel music, tonight is a chance to connect with something greater than ourselves, and to experience the power of unity, joy, and worship.”

Couldn’t have said it better myself :)

Thank you again for your support this year, lots of fun and meaningful things going on at UTA this month, many of which could not happen without your support. Lives are being changed and hearts are turning to God, thank you for your part in this.

Love,

Sophie
