Happy October!
This past month has been a whirlwind! School really got off the ground and we have finally got some normal rhythms established. The highlight of this month was for sure fall camp (pictured above)! But, before I jump into telling you about it, I want to thank you! Thank you for you making ministry like this possible. All of those students in the pictures above and below have been deeply impacted by your heart for God and love for the people of God without even knowing you. Thank you for loving them enough to invest in their time in college. I am continually blown away how God chooses to use what we give Him to make something even more lasting and significant. I can't stop looking at this photo and all the lives God has allowed us to cross paths with, it's crazy. Who knows how they will go on from college to impact others for God. THANK YOU!!
Fall Camp:
Fall camp is a 24 hour retreat we take in the fall with just our UTA students! It's a chance to connect with God, build deeper relationships and branch out beyond just the people in their cores. This year we talked about the practicals of FOCUS' top three values: 1. Complete devotion to Jesus, 2. Real relationships 3. Raising up leaders. This was a neat time for our students to get nitty gritty with some of this in their own lives. It's often at fall camp that you really get to see people go from "this is just something I attend" to "Im a part of this community". This year was no different, it was also one of our most well attended fall camps ever! Excited to see the fruit of this time in the months to come.
This is me with three of our seniors this year! The in the middle are corefas this year :)
This is not about fall camp but I thought this was so sweet. This is from one of our fellowship nights. We sang a song called "Bind us Together" by the Porters Gate, which was a new song for us. What a neat prayer for our community, that God would bind us together and make us one. Reminds me of Jesus prayer in John 17:
"I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me."
Join me in praying this over our community at UTA. Thank you again so much for making another month of ministry possible. PS- check out the student testimony at the bottom from Dom! She is one of our students at UTA and I have the gift of meeting with her every week. Until next month,
Sophie
