July Update

A group of our students and I play tennis every week over the summer!

Happy July!

It has been an exciting and packed few weeks for me. Summer came into full swing in June and has had a steadier rhythm than May. A lot of my summer is fundraising and prepping our student leader team for the fall, which I am going to share about them some in a moment! Almost every season of campus ministry has something about it that is special to me. The summer is a neat reminder to me of

1. God's great faithfulness to me.

2. Other people's belief in me and vision for me have been critical in my life and maturity.

I am so thankful that because of you I get to share about God's great faithfulness year round and be the one to have a vision for college students when they don't have one for themselves. Thank you for making this ministry possible and having eyes to see how God may impact many many college students through your generosity. Lives are being changed and hearts are turning to God. It is a privilege to get to be a part of this with you.

24-25 Leader Team:

This is one of our newest student leaders for the upcoming year! I am so so thrilled about Mia choosing to lead core this year. She has been instrumental in teaching me to have vision for people. She came into college unsure of her place and somewhat indifferent to a faith she had grown up with. However in the last several years she has come to see God as a God who loves her, is abundantly graceful, and has a heart for the people and causes close to her heart. She currently works as an orientation leader and is excited to welcome new freshman to UTA. I couldn't be more proud of her and I am excited to see her get to live on mission this year. Join me in praying for her.

You can really see their faces haha but the two girls holding and playing with the baby are Alisa and Laurel. They are going to be our most seasoned student leaders this year. This is really special to me because they were freshman my first year working as a campus missionary. I got to study the bible with Alisa that same year. I've really gotten to watch them grow and mature these past four years. I'm excited to see them lead in a new way this year, since they will be our most seasoned members. Join me in praying that they would be leaders of leaders and take seriously the fact that so many of our students will look to and respect them. Pray that they are faithful to their leadership commitments and are excited to share the God of great faithfulness with their peers.

New Apprentice.... Madison!

This is Madison, she is going to be joining our full time staff in Arlington this year. She went to college at TWU and was involved with FOCUS there. She felt like God was calling her to ministry and she landed at UTA! Be praying for her transition out to Arlington and for her first year of full time ministry out here. I'm excited to share how God will use her.

Final Fundraising Update:

I am 93% fundraised! I am looking for just a few more people to help me close that final gap by August 1st. If you are interested in giving or know anyone who might be please let me know.

The new school year is almost here, which is so exciting! Another year of both getting to remember and experience the faithfulness of God. Pray that God will give me belief in students and a vision for them that aligns with His vision for them and their lives. Pray that our students would know and look like Jesus more as a result of being in our ministry, and would go forth being able to teach others to do the same. Again, thank you for making raising up this new generation of disciples and friends possible, lives are being changed because of your choice to imitate the generosity and faithfulness of God. Thank you for having eyes with vision.

Until next month,

Sophie
