May Update

LAST CORE!!

Happy May!

It's the end of the school year! I can't believe it came around so quickly. Thank you for making this year of ministry possible, all of these girls would've had a very different year without generous people supporting campus ministries and missionaries. Thank you for being so faithful to God's mission at UT Arlington this year.

End of Year Formal:

Every year we cap of the year by having a formal for our whole ministry, it a time we get to dress up and have fun together but also get to celebrate what God has done in us and the people around us for the last 10 months.

Here is a picture from half way through the night, we had food catered for our students! So they got to eat and enjoy one another while we showed some pictures from the year and honored different ones of them for various things.

The rest of these pictures are from the same night!

This is our women's corefa team for the year, all the young women who volunteered to serve as student leaders for the 23-24 school year! Beyond committing to being present at and planning their small group every week they attended TNF (Thursday Night Fellowship), Leader Meetings, and 2 on 1's ( Meetings with their cofa. On top of all of that they make sure every girl in their core gets the opportunity to study the Bible with somebody one on one, AND they commit to setting the pace as disciples in other areas of life such as dating, conflict resolution, and evangelism. It's a lot, and they served with glad and sincere hearts. This team is really worth honoring, our ministry would hardly be thriving, effective or possible without them. Join me in praying for them as some consider the decision to lead core again, and others go on towards the work place, they each are gifts from God!

This is my Peer Team from this year! Peer Team is essentially a subset of our women's leader team that is assigned to me to meet with weekly and guide them in maintenance of their core and develop them as disciples and leaders. L to R: Laurel (Junior), Alisa (Junior), me, Skylar (Sophomore), Laura (Senior).

Laurel and Alisa lead core together this year and were such a gift to meet with every week. They are both incredibly humble and relational women and leaders. Every week they came prepared with ideas or situations they wanted to talk through together. They are both exceedingly thoughtful women who have become meaningful friends to me over our years in ministry together. Join me in praying for their last year of school this upcoming year and what God may be leading them towards, pray they have the courage to say yes to God and no to fear!

Laura and Skylar lead core together this year and I could not think of a more earnest and tender pair of women to meet with. They are two of the sweetest and most deeply captivated by God women that I get the honor of knowing. Join me in praying for them as Skylar stays in our ministry and continues to lead and for Laura as she enters the work place as a nurse, pray they continue to have their eyes and ears intently inclined towards God.

These are the girls from my core who were able to come to formal, they are seriously some of the most eager and open young women I've ever had in core. I meet with all of them one on one and they each have such meaningful stories and clearly are eager for God and community. L to R: Precious (Freshman), Zoe (Senior), Jacie (Senior), Briana (Freshman), Lena (Junior)- Not pictured: Zariya (Freshman) and Lindsey (Sophomore)!

Join me in prayer for them! Pray that those who are staying in our ministry would grow into pillars for the young women who come after them. May they become well aquatinted with the character of God that their devotion to him would remain unshakable long after they leave our care. Pray that those who are leaving may not forget the ways God met them and trained them in college, may they also be unshakable in their love and devotion to God.

THANK YOU!!

Truly such a neat year of ministry, God's finger prints are so obvious as I reflect on this year and the students that were entrusted to us. Thank you for being one of God's finger prints on our ministry. Our ministry would not be possible with out your generosity and our work on campus would not be possible without faithful prayer. Thank you from me and all who your generosity touched this year, could not be more thankful for you.

Love,
Sophie
