A Month of Prayer

Happy Spring!!

I am so glad to be back with you, excited to share some neat things God has been doing at UTA this month. It really is my prayer that these short blogs can remind you of what God is doing with your generosity and faithfulness! I pray these can be tangible examples of what God is doing through your generosity! Thank you for your support and partnership. Thank you feels insufficient when I am able to see all the work God has done through generous people like you, so I hope this is a little window into God's work in Arlington.

72 Hours of Prayer

Something special I wanted to share with you this month is from an event we have annually at UTA called "72 Hours of Prayer". This is an event where all the Christian ministries on campus come together for 72 continuous hours to pray over the campus, and the world together. It is such a unique unifying experience. We have not done this event since 2019 due to covid so it was so exciting to be back this year. We set up a big tent in the middle of campus and students and staff sign up for one hour slots to go into the tent and pray over various things so that we can pray continuously for 72 hours. The tent is open to anyone at anytime who wants to pray or who needs prayer.

This is a view inside the tent at the end of my time praying yesterday. I brought a few girls and prayed with them for an hour over some of the slips of paper you see hung up at the back, each of those are prayer requests people have written, I will include a few close up pictures of them so you can join us in prayer over them! We also spent time praying for people in our lives who don't know Jesus. It was so neat to hear how the girls in my core were thinking about opportunities to share the gospel and care for people around them, they have such big hearts for God and people.

(L:R) Katy, Jacie, and Mia came with me to pray!

Here are some of the prayer requests from students on UTA's campus, I invite you to join us in praying for them. I found it super touching and wanted to share it with you.

These are just five of probably hundreds of slips around the tent. It was so encouraging to see them because that meant God was moving in some way in all of those students lives and hearts, and to know each slip had been prayed over at least once if not more by others gave me such a vision for what God is doing at UTA! These students want to know God, it was a touching reminder to me why I feel so passionately about campus missions. I hope this touches you as well!

Other Fun Things:

Lizzy and I, at our roommates birthday celebration!

Celebrating Loren's birthday at Core!

This is Kyndal! We get to meet regularly and learn about God together, she is one of the most earnest and funniest people!

Playing pickle ball with some girls!

This is Sarah, we get to meet every week and study the bible! She is eager and a neat friend to me.

I hope this update reminds you of how vast God's mission is, it fills me with thankfulness that we get to participate in a small part of it. Thank you for joining me in Gods mission! Until next month,

Love,

Sophie
